roaming the streets, part 2

we got very excited when we saw the red, white, and blue!

chad, the trouble maker, told me to take a picture of the sign that said no pictures.
we hurried off hoping we would not get detained.

places near the consulate building were trying to appeal to americans.

down the street from all of this were a few more flags.

they had a tram running through the city as well.

we never had a chance to try the "good food" at that restaurant.

i giggled to myself everytime i saw one of these cute nuns walking by. all i could think of was sister act! i didn't know if i wanted to to squeeze them, ask for their autograph, or remain quiet as to not spook them while observing them in their natural habitat like some rare and exotic animal on national geographic. i'm sure if i had acted poorly around them they would have pulled out a ruler and slapped my hand, but i loved seeing them around and about. it made the place feel even more special.

we felt daring and decided we would try to order some ice cream without being able to read the labels and there were many people in line.

they had waffles out on the counter to purchase as well.

we ordered two scoops and the first one looked like vanilla, but to our surprising taste buds, it screamed lime peel! after chad bravely ate the first scoop all by himself, the second layer was delicious!

this cute folk band played often during our stay.

the smell of food as we walked by was fantastic!

this was the city hall tower that chad would later make me climb on our last day.

i guess because of the cold, colored tights are very popular.

your drinks are served with a drinking glass and a bottle of your choice.
i'm assuming this is a crate of bottles on their way to be refilled once again.

i'm a people watcher, so i was intrigued every time i saw a worker repairing a road or building.

this salesman was very talented. he put on a show with the puppet while using the highest voice a man has ever made. chad got video of his act and we pretty much heard him perform it all day.

here is another historical warrior, i'm sure.

again, one of many majestic doors we would find.

this guy looked so cool aside from the small dancing donald and mickey dolls that danced to the fast rhythmic music that played from his tiny boom box! i think he could have been embarrassed of us taking his picture.

i was wishing i had our large ikea bag with us.

i loved capturing this moment!

chad thought this sign was funny. it, of course, is their sign for alcohol.
it was one of many bars around there.

there were several t-shirt shops that lined the streets, but unfortunately many shirts were too inappropriate to purchase. we did like the no taking picture shirt since we saw this sign a lot.

i thought these messenger bags were pretty cute.

these walk up windows were called, kebabs.
we kept thinking they were selling kebabs and were confused when we looked at the pictures.

this was probably the funniest thing we saw during our stay.
this restaurant was called, the mexican. it was right down from our hotel & we passed the mexican many, many times. we even spoke with him once while reading the menu, which claimed to be authentic, but we knew better. this was the closest thing to anything mexican that we saw during our trip to poland! this was the first blonde-haired, blue-eyed mexican we had ever seen.

this golden arch was packed with people every time we walked by it.

this was the view from the other direction facing our hotel. this is were the florian gate, ulica florianska, stands.

just around the corner is were artists sell their paintings.

i took a few pictures of some of my favorites.

i asked how much this painting below cost, and i was told 300 zloty.
that would be equal to $100 in american cash.

chad fancied the following paintings.

this reminded us of our cat, cheeto.

the painting above nearly fooled us to believing it was a place we really visited during our stay because it looked so real on the camera screen while scrolling through all the pictures he had taken earlier in the day.

this also reminded us of our beloved cat.

as we headed back to our hotel to have lunch before our tour, we saw these guys roll by.
it looked pretty fun!
